In 2006-07 Huron Hospital CMH in conjunction with Community Relations Office established a Community Advisory Board. The purpose of the Advisory Board is to provide a forum to enhance communication between Huron Hospital, Center for Minority Health and the wider community.
The board will consist of individuals representing a broad spectrum of community services, businesses, government agencies, schools and churches, as well as, the community-at-large. Their responsibility is to provide feedback on how Huron Hospital and CMH are being perceived in the community.
In addition, Huron Hospital and CMH will be responsible for the following:
- Provide updates on various programs and events available to the community
- Increase awareness of prevention and treatment of chronics diseases
- Collaborate with community to help reduce health disparities
- Create opportunities for further collaborations and partnerships relevant to topics of mutual interest
- Establish opportunities for community representatives to give presentations

Meetings are planned by the President and his leadership team. The meetings will be held quarterly at the hospital. Each member receives a letter of invitation which includes the agenda. Lunch is served.
